Reducing Emissions Using Closed loop manufacturing control
Tuppas Software Corporation offers a closed loop system that can be beneficial in tuning your process for emissions reduction, carbon reduction, optimal production output and quality improvement. Tuppas has sold closed loop modules for years that create relationships between process input data and result sets.
Manufacturing software has come a long way over the past few years. Highly configurable systems are outpacing canned systems and providing a path for innovation.
Manufacturing software which can be configured to suit the customer's needs in a short time frame at reasonable cost is within reach.
Tuppas Closed Loop is a process that compares input data from shop floor process settings to output result sets. The inputs can be any process set points that can be recorded on a regular basis. As an example the system might be setup to record line speeds, fan speeds or other manufacturing settings that could possibly have an impact on the output or result set data. The outputs are data that you would want the system to optimize. Some examples of good result sets can be the QC or quality control systems, Production Efficiency reporting systems and even systems that record emissions.
When properly combined you can create a system/solution that allows you to study the set points which correspond to your desired results. As an example if you were interested in creating a high quality product with a high operational efficiency and low emissions you could query the result set for the periods in time that those types of production runs were occurring to bring back a process recipe that made the good runs possible.
The great thing about tuning a process and optimizing it to achieve a given result is that improvements can be achieved without a large investment in capital equipment. The cost of the software is often minimal in relationship to the ROI from efficiency and quality improvement or the reduction in environmental impact and carbon reduction.
